Sun Life Appoints New CEO, High Net Worth

The new CEO, whose leadership roles have spanned insurance and banking across Asia, the Middle East and Europe, will lead HNW businesses across Hong Kong, Singapore and Bermuda.
Toronto-headquartered Sun Life Financial, an international financial services organisation, has appointed Sujoy Ghosh (pictured) as chief executive officer, high net worth, effective 4 November. He will report to Manjit Singh, president, Sun Life Asia, and be based in Singapore.
Ghosh will lead Sun Life’s global high net worth (HNW) business in Hong Kong, Singapore and Bermuda, deepening partnerships and enhancing capabilities to strengthen Sun Life’s position in HNW insurance.
Ghosh brings 27 years’ experience in leadership roles spanning insurance and banking across Asia, the Middle East and Europe, the firm said in a statement. He will be joining Sun Life from Citi, where he was most recently head of global insurance and Asia head, business development – Citi Wealth, responsible for the bank’s global insurance operations and business development in Asia. Prior to joining Citi, he was the regional head of bancassurance for Allianz in Asia Pacific, responsible for establishing and managing commercial partnerships across life and general insurance in Asia Pacific.
